Akamai Driving Academy Polices
This document contains policies for Akamai Driving Academy. These policies are intended for classroom and behind-the-wheel adult and teen driving instruction.
1. Terms of Service
Akamai Driving Academy provides online classroom and behind-the-wheel driving instruction. We do not guarantee that any student will pass a road test or obtain a driver’s license. All instruction is provided based on student ability, experience, and safety considerations.
-Students agree to follow all traffic laws and instructor directions during lessons. Akamai Driving Academy reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service for safety reasons.
2. Student Eligibility Requirements
-Students must possess a valid Hawaiʻi driver’s license or learner’s permit at the time of instruction. Corrective lenses must be worn if required by the license. Students must be physically and mentally fit to drive.
-Akamai Driving Academy does not provide instruction to individuals under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications that may impair driving ability.
3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
-A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson time, or failure to appear, may result in forfeiture of the lesson fee.
-Akamai Driving Academy reserves the right to cancel or reschedule lessons due to weather, vehicle issues, or safety concerns.
4. Payment Policy
-Payment is due at the end of each Behind the Wheel lesson. Payments for online lectures are due at the time of booking unless otherwise specified. Payment options include, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, cash, check, and credit/debit cards.
-Lesson packages must be used within the stated expiration period.
5. Package Expiration Policy
-Lesson packages expire six (6) months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated.
6. Safety & Liability Disclaimer
-Driving instruction involves inherent risks. Students participate in driving lessons at their own risk. Akamai Driving Academy follows safety procedures but cannot eliminate all risks associated with driving.
-Students are responsible for any traffic citations, violations, or penalties incurred during lessons.
7. Vehicle Use Policy
-Lessons may be conducted using either an instructor-provided vehicle or a student-provided vehicle, as confirmed at booking. Seatbelts must be worn at all times.
-Smoking, alcohol, drugs, and disruptive behavior are prohibited during lessons.
8. Instructor Authority & Lesson Termination
-The instructor may immediately terminate a lesson if the student demonstrates unsafe behavior, is impaired, or refuses to follow instructions. In such cases, the lesson fee may be forfeited.
9. Privacy Policy
-Akamai Driving Academy collects personal information such as name, phone number, and email address solely for scheduling and communication purposes. Personal information is not sold or shared.
-Students may contact Akamai Driving Academy to request access to or deletion of their personal information.
